Description:

Req ID: 74066
Department: FPM - Cost CoE
Division: Enterprise Finance
Location: Docklands
About Us
At ANZ, we’re shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.
About the Role
As a Cost Manager in the COE team, you’ll play a key role in helping to draw on many competencies and to form a well-rounded finance professional who is involved in end-to-end cost work. Primarily focused on the Commercial Division, 1835i & Partnerships, you will lead a team of cost experts with responsibility for all related cost activities. This includes providing accurate and timely financial information (actual analysis, planning and forecasting, performance reporting), day to day problem solving, application of financial policy, and providing insightful analysis and advice covering BAU costs and investment slate/projects.
As a Divisionally aligned member of the Cost CoE you will be co-located with the Commercial Business Partners and Australia Retail & Commercial Performance Management team forming close relationships with our peers to deliver a seamless service proposition for your stakeholders. With the Business Partners, you will build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders, with a focus on supporting the delivery of productivity initiatives and investment projects.
While ensuring the financials are well managed, your responsibilities include driving continuous improvement of cost processes, supporting Enterprise Finance initiatives (such as the implementation of Matapae/OneStream), and contributing to making the COE and Finance a great place to work.
Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.
Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008
Role Type: 12-month Secondment/Fixed-term opportunity, Full-time
What will your day look like?
The Cost Manager role draws on competencies from FP&A to form a well-rounded Finance professional engaged in planning and target setting activities; financial performance analysis and reporting; decision support (including formulating solutions to complex business problems) and continuous process improvement and automation.
You will be aligned to the Divisions, will likely possess a wide range of generalist Finance skills developed in a business-facing role; and may bring specialist skills to bear where you have had responsibility for ownership of tasks/ processes where a high degree of context and subject matter expertise was required.
As part of your continuous improvement mandate, you may represent the ARC FPM team in owning Finance models and associated governance standards and will manage FPM’s approach to reporting and performance management in line with established principles.
You will play a critical role in the development of Finance’s knowledge base by ensuring that analytical work, including models and papers, are developed in a systematic manner to create a foundation for future analysis, while supporting the growth and development of our people, and driving standardisation across the wider FPM function.
In this role, you are in a unique position to influence change as part of the wider Finance service proposition by leveraging your skills to access new data sets, develop new tools and measures, and build on the existing enabling toolsets to drive faster and better decision-making across your stakeholder base.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
A people-first approach - You are a team player who is motivated by the opportunity to bring people together to solve problems and take a personal interest in the growth and development of team members.
Curiosity and self-awareness -You are naturally inclined to ask ‘why?’ and ‘so what?’ and know how to challenge the status quo in a respectful manner
Strong verbal, visual and written communication skills to communicate initiatives, projects, ideas, or progress to senior stakeholders
Strong people and stakeholder management to support the effective delivery of projects/initiatives
Proficient in core tools including Excel/PPT, HFM & PSGL, PPM with a willingness to learn new tools and techniques
