Description:
MISSION
As a Performance Monitoring Engineer, you must ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of our web-based applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the performance of the websites, ensuring a seamless user experience. This role requires a deep understanding of web performance metrics, monitoring tools, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues proactively.
- Monitor Website Performance: Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, Google Lighthouse, etc.) to continuously track key performance metrics such as load time, response time, and uptime.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and potential issues.
- Provide detailed reports and actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot Performance Issues: Diagnose and resolve performance-related issues in real-time, working closely with development and operations teams to implement fixes and optimizations.
- Optimization: Recommend and implement best practices for optimizing web performance, including code optimization, content delivery network (CDN) configuration, image compression, and caching strategies.
- Capacity Planning: Collaborate with infrastructure teams to plan for future capacity needs, ensuring the website can handle traffic spikes and increased user loads.
- Incident Management: Lead the investigation and resolution of performance incidents, minimizing downtime and ensuring quick recovery.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts to automate performance testing and monitoring, enabling proactive identification of issues before they impact users.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of performance monitoring processes, tools, and best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps, and QA to integrate performance considerations into the website development lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in web performance monitoring and optimization.
- Implement new tools and methodologies to improve monitoring processes.
