The post holder will assess and manage patients in a timely manner, prioritising and triaging patients according to clinical need. To advise patients on general health care in pregnancy and how to manage minor perinatal ailments, applying principles of self-care where appropriate. To work with patients and their family in order to support compliance with and adherence to prescribed treatments. To provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication.

The post holder will be able to adapt his/her own work plan to respond to emergencies and unexpected events. The post holder will respond to tight deadlines and prioritise work appropriately.
The post holder will motivate and lead clinicians, supporting them to facilitate care plans which reflect continuity and effective ways of working with families with complex MH needs The post holder will contribute to the coordination of external inspections as appropriate and be able to demonstrate that effective self-evaluation and improvement programmes are in place and are regularly reviewed. The post holder will ensure compliance with up to date legislation and evidenced based guidance relating to perinatal MH services and provision to ensure the delivery of quality services that remain high performin
