Description:
Are you a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist interested in joining the Oxfordshire Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team? You will be a member of an established Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team, playing a key role in clinical leadership and development, supervision and training.
As well as excellent terms and conditions, we offer supervision and CPD and training to support the role and individual career progression and have excellent links with the Oxford Centre for Psychological Health that includes Oxford Centre for Cognitive Therapy (OCTC) and Oxford Institute for Clinical Psychology Training, which is hosted by the Trust. We actively encourage innovation and research with opportunities for collaborations with University of Oxford Department of Psychiatry and Department of Experimental Psychology.
You will have experience of providing psychological assessment and intervention for adults in the perinatal period with severe and/or complex mental health difficulties.
We are looking for a skilled Psychologist who can provide s upervision and support the psychological assessment and therapy provision of more junior members of staff. Working well in a team, you will p rovide consultation around psychological care needs.
You w ill also be required to work autonomously managing your own caseload and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team. You will u tilise research skills for audit, policy and service development, including quality improvement and research. We are looking for a candidate who can p ropose and implement policy changes which may impact on other professionals working in the team.

This role is crucial in ensuring that patients get access to high quality psychological treatments within the Oxfordshire Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team. As part of the role, you will:
Provide psychological assessment and intervention for adults with severe and/or complex mental health difficulties in outpatient and community settings. This may also include the use of digital technology.
Supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by assistant psychologists, doctoral trainee clinical psychologists and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment.
Provide consultation to colleagues as well as to social care and GPs in planning and implementing care plans for clients with psychological care needs.
Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of local policies and procedures.
To exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team.
Utilise research skills, as a major requirement of the job, for audit, policy and service development, including quality improvement and research.
Propose and implement policy changes which may impact on other professionals working in the team
