Description:
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- University degree in Business Administration or Accounting with a strong emphasis on accounting and financial management; CPA designation or equivalent;
- Minimum of 5 years’ related work experience at a management level;
- Knowledge of government reporting requirements in the not-for-profit sector;
- Demonstrated ability to motivate staff, capable in applying principles of coaching, mentoring and performance management effectively;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
- Ability to think strategically and operationalize plans;
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-up and accuracy coupled with good analytical skills as well as solid business acumen

Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction and management to the Finance department including: Cost and General accounting, Budgeting, Financial reporting, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Payroll, Audit preparation, Ministry/funder reporting, Finance & Audit Committee preparation, Fee for Service, Procurement, Capital Planning, Financial statements management.
- Ensure legal risks to the organization are monitored and managed.
- Direct the implementation and maintenance of internal control systems to ensure security of financial resources; reviews and revises financial policies and procedures as required.
- Review, approve and provide monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics on a timely basis as required to Ongwanada Management, Audit and Finance Committee, Board of Directors, Ministry of Children Community and Social Services and other regulated agencies.
- Develop operating and capital budgets with Ministry of Children, Community & Social Services and prepare quarterly variance reports, annual reconciliations and capital project progress and final reports;
- Prepare, analyze and present periodic forecasts to departments, Finance & Property Committee, and the Board of Directors
