Description:

We are seeking to appoint a Personal and Administrative Assistant, based within the Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health, to provide administrative support to the Oxford-based groups, as well as PA support to the Centre’s work at the overseas units.
You will be responsible for organising the day-to-day administrative duties, including managing diaries, meetings, teleconference calls and other appointments. You will make national and international travel arrangements including arranging transport, hotels, visas, insurance, car hire and preparing detailed travel itineraries. Other duties will include organising events in Oxford such as weekly group meetings, quarterly project team meetings, seminars, guest lectures, etc., including sourcing venues and preparing catering if required, and you will meet and greet visitors in Oxford, making refreshments and arranging catering as required.
It is essential that you are educated to A-Level standard or equivalent, and have experience of administrative work in a team environment. You will be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload under pressure and meet deadlines. You will be able to work independently using your own initiative, and as part of a team demonstrating a flexible and helpful approach, particularly with respect to staff based on another continent and in supporting colleagues when necessary. It is essential you have good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact equally effectively with senior academic staff, researchers and support staff.
