  • Experience with MND care and peg feeding (highly desirable)
  • Skills in manual handling and working with a two-person assist
  • Background in aged care, disability support, and home & community care
  • Relevant qualifications in Aged Care, Disability, Individual Support, or Nursing
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Current First Aid & CPR certifications
  • An NDIS Worker Screening Check, or the willingness to obtain one
  • Flexibility to adapt to different shifts and locations

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional care for a client living with Motor Neuron Disease (MND). The ideal candidate will have expertise in MND care, peg feeding, and manual handling, with experience supporting clients with complex care needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide personal care and support in 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm or 9am-9pm)
  • Assist with client transfers, including the use of a standing lifter, pivot transfers with a gait belt, and assistance with bed mobility
  • Support with peg feeding and medication administration
  • Provide 2-person assistance for transfers, based on client fatigue levels
  • Active night support for 2-person assistance as needed
  • Ensure safety and fall prevention, as the client is a falls risk
  • Monitor and support life-sustaining technology as part of daily care.
