Description:

CONTRACT TYPE: PERMANENT

Our Neighbourhood Services department are looking for someone who is able to carry out pest control treatments, investigate and take action to prevent or minimise infestations and to discharge the council’s statutory duties in connection with stray dogs in order to protect and enhance Luton’s environment. This is a recruit for potential role.
You will be required to respond to a range of pest control service requests; undertaking detailed inspections of premises, ensuring response times to all service requests are within Departmental guidelines, selecting and monitoring appropriate treatment programmes for the control of rodents, insects and other pests.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is able to deal politely and tactfully with a wide range of people, some of whom may be angry, upset or difficult.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop on your existing skills by being able to maintain accurate written/computer based records.
We do ask that you have a valid driving licence and are able to travel to sites and locations throughout the Borough on a daily basis.
Applicants for this role will need to be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate mixture proportions and quantities as well as be able to give advice within specific guidelines.
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English
