LICENSURE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND CLEARANCES:

ARRT certified as a CT Technologist. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is currently hiring for a FLEX Full-Time PET/CT Technologist Specialist to support their Radiation Oncology Network offices located in Indiana & Johnstown, PA. This position will work FLEX full-time Monday through Friday daylight schedule floating between offices.

In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, provides technical expertise to various offices. Functions as a resource to staff to provide orientation, continuing education, and protocol development

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for tech quality assurance program and the reviewing and updating of protocols alongside of or in place of the lead technologists. Assumes leadership role in training staff on new equipment
  • Assist with accreditation responsibilities.
  • Attends advanced training sessions and seminars in order to maintain industry standards in imaging techniques and disseminates information to imaging departmental leadership and as a part of new hire orientation.
  • Performs job responsibilities of PET CT Tech & Nuclear Medicine Tech
  • Leads training on new techniques and protocols for research studies and collaborates with radiologists and researchers where applicable to identify new techniques and problem-solving resolutions.
  • Serves as a technical resource to technologists on a daily operational basis. Assist technologist with continuing education needs and participate as a peer delegate in staff annual performance reviews.
  • Creates and implements new training programs, where applicable, and assists with the startup of new offsite locations. Responsibilities for new locations include, but are not limited to, working on reporting systems, obtaining appropriate images and effectively communicating with attending physicians as well as co-workers and patients
  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or certified by a CNMT program.
  • 3 years of CT experience required
  • Nuclear Medicine & PET CT experience preferred
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
