Location: Leeds, LS15 or Bardon, LE67 (with hybrid working after completion of training)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Buying Manager to join the e-script commercial team and take responsibility for buying veterinary medication for our newly acquired animal health business. This is a new and critical role as we look to rapidly scale a successful start-up.
Responsibilities:
Negotiate the lowest cost prices with existing and new direct suppliers to ensure optimal drug pricing.
Collaborate with the marketing team to negotiate marketing support for planned campaigns and secure funding for new campaigns and co-branded collateral.
Expand the supplier base by acquiring new suppliers for commercial and growth plans, while growing our existing suppliers based on their support capabilities.
Manage and optimise retail pricing on the website to maintain competitive margins, potentially using automated pricing reports from competitor data.
Oversee stock ordering for veterinary medication, ensuring high availability and accurate reporting in collaboration with the data team and Director of Veterinary Operations.
Work with the Director of Veterinary Operations to expand the product range from 1,000 to 4,000 products, sourcing and selling them at competitive prices.
Own and deliver the trading P&L for veterinary medication, focusing on buying margin, gross margin, rebates, retros, and marketing support.
Develop and communicate a resource plan forecasting trading resource needs in line with projected and actual growth.
