Description:

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • BS degree or higher (in Veterinary Science or related field) with 10+ years’ experience or MS degree (in Veterinary Science or related field) with 7+ years’ experience
  • Broad technical knowledge of Pet Food &/or Treat development and processing, with understanding of nutritional requirements
  • Leadership – excellence in leadership, people and project management skills and a strong understanding of the Pet Nutrition market
  • Communication – well-developed communication skills, able to communicate at all levels, with excellent presentation skills
  • Customer- Centric – makes customers/clients and their needs a primary focus, exceeding customers’ expectations at all times
  • Accountability – obligation and willingness to accept responsibility and account for actions, while also willing to hold team members accountable for actions, performance and results

DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Develop technical capabilities against regional business strategies
  • Drive everyday project execution through Best Practices and Intelligent Project Management initiatives
  • Drive accountability throughout CD&D Pet Nutrition team, to ensure team ownership of results against initiatives
  • Support and visit key accounts
  • Work with regional and global leads to ensure support for global projects and customers
  • Talent development
  • Support regional and global innovation pipelines, via customer & marketing requests
  • Responsible for Category KPI’s
  • Develop, train and coach CD&D scientists & formulators in Pet Nutrition
  • Develop a strong network of pet industry relationships across ADM regions

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

The successful individual has:

  • Broad technical knowledge of Pet Food development and processing, and extensive knowledge of Pet industry market trends
  • People Management Skills – the ability to manage, develop and coach people, to deliver against performance indicators, supporting and encouraging ADM talent to achieve their potential within the business
  • Project Management Skills – The individual has proven skills in management of complex technical programs through direct accountability of success factors; routine monitoring, follow-up, corrective action and routine reporting to senior leadership
  • Influencing Skills – The Individual has the aptitude to influence, motivate, persuade and beneficially achieve shared goals with others
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office is critical; working knowledge of SalesForce and Pet Nutrition formulation software is preferred

Responsibilities:

The CD&D Pet Lead is independently responsible for leading the daily technical efforts of the EMEA CD&D Pet Nutrition team and will serve as a key technical contact for ADM commercial colleagues and customers in the regions. They will input as regional experts into the global pet nutrition strategy, delivering execution of strategic plans within the region. This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining a successful team, developing people, fostering relationships with customers and team members, as well as driving and adapting to change.
CD&D stands for Creation, Design & Development. Technical product development & innovation team of ADM Nutrition BU.
