DESCRIPTION

The Pharmacy Practice Residency is a one-year post-graduate residency program in an institutional practice setting that provides training as set forth and approved by the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP). The program will provide the opportunity to advance the resident’s pharmacy practice beyond entry-level professional competence and develop the skills, knowledge, and attitude necessary for the provision of high-quality pharmaceutical care.

Candidates applying for the Pharmacist Resident position will be required to submit supplemental documents for review by the Mission Hospital Pharmacy PGY-1 Residency Program. All application materials are to be directly sent to missionrxresidency@providence.org

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduated from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited college of pharmacy.
• California Pharmacist Intern License upon hire or
• California Pharmacist Registered upon hire.
• Required within one hundred and twenty (120) days of hire, or as outlined by program policies, whichever is sooner: California Pharmacist Registered

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• PharmD
• Experience in hospital pharmacy practices as a student, intern, or pharmacist.
• Demonstrated computer literacy
• Demonstrated drug knowledge, IV knowledge, and compounding ability
