This job performs clerical duties in accordance with the established policies and regulations. Assists with completing inventory duties and data entry. Provides excellent customer service to customers, reporting any questions or concerns to pharmacy management.

EDUCATION

Required – High School Diploma or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to interact with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds, of all ages, and at all levels within and outside the organization in a positive and effective manner.
  • Ability to work effectively to complete all assigned task within a given time period.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work within a group setting.
  • Must always maintain a firm understanding of confidentiality and HIPPA laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Operates and balances cash register to ensure accurate payment collection when needed.
  • Organizes medication returns and monitors receipt of pharmacy orders.
  • Greets customers and provides customer service in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Handles phone calls and Rx messages for missing dosages.
  • Accurately enters cycle counts into the computer system.
  • Couriers medications as needed.
  • Immediately forwards medication related questions to Pharmacist/Pharmacy Technicians as necessary.
  • Organizes and cleans pharmacy shelves and floors.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
