Description:
We are looking for a FT Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team. The Pharmacy Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of our British Columbia location and perform key administrative duties. The Pharmacy Assistant will register patients, input prescription medication orders into our system, and perform other tasks to support operations.
Availability: In-person Sun-Thurs 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 18+ years of age with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Strong business acumen and basic understanding of the business and economics of pharmacy and the Canadian pharmaceutical industry
- Remarkable attention to detail as it relates to medication preparation and labelling, inventory management, pharmacy documentation and quality control
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Respect for Health & Safety procedures and protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for colleagues
- Fluent in English
Responsibilities:
- Register patients in our system; create patient profiles, accurately input medical records and prescription medication history and maintain the integrity of database
- Support Pharmacist with processing of prescription medication including preparation, labelling, packaging and shipment
- Service the requests of doctors and patients and direct inquiries to the Pharmacist
- Assist Pharmacist with the management of inventory levels and packaging supplies; help coordinate drug medication orders with wholesaler or drug manufacturers
- Adhere to the rules and regulations stipulated by the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (“NAPRA”) and BC College of Pharmacists
