POSITION SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Assistant plays an important role in the quality and safety of our medications. They assist in the preparation, packaging and organization of the medication deliveries, which requires an exceptional attention to detail. Their support to the Pharmacists and Technicians is essential to maintaining our quality standards.

Your Day to Day:

  • Adhere to all applicable policies, standards and procedures
  • Create drug and medical supplies purchase orders from a variety of vendors and wholesalers
  • Communicate requests for special drug orders to the Cross Cancer Institute and other specialized outpatient pharmacies
  • Maintain workflow and receipt of medication and product within the prescribed timeline of drug product request
  • To assist in shipping and receiving of drugs and drug products
  • Prepare daily wholesaler orders
  • Replenish shelves with reordered medications
  • Maintain stock levels and order when required
  • Ensure the area is clean and free of garbage and debris at all times

What You Will Bring to The Team:

  • Working experience as a Pharmacy Assistant
  • Hands on experience with KROLL Pharmacy system
  • Experience navigating and placing orders on wholesaler websites
  • Experience with Microsoft Office preferred
  • Experience in a long term care pharmacy setting would be preferred, but not required
