Description of position:
Assists pharmacist to fill,dispense prescriptions for patients.Assists patients at counter,retrieves prescriptions,processes register transactions.Orders and stocks drugs,supplies,and over-the-counter merchandise. Updates patient records and invcentory,processes invoices and makes accounting entries using computerized system.
daily tasks and responsibilities:
*Assists at counter,receives written prescriptions for pharmacist,and retrieves filled prescriptions.Processes register transactions.Receives payment,makes change,processes cheques,credit and debit charges. Provides prompt and courteous patient service. Answers phones, directs members to product location.
*Assists Pharmacist in updating patient profile and entering prescription information into pharmacy computer to extent permitted by provincial regulations. Preserves patient confidentiality.
*Prepares third party insurance claims, process invoices.
Qualifications:
*Education/Training: Completed a pharmacy diploma at community college
*Experience: Employees with current pharmacy experience will be given preference over other candidates.
*Knowledge/Skills: Computer, math, and member service skills preferred.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Okotoks, AB T1S 0K4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

• pharmacy: 1 year (preferred)
• Pharmacy Assistants: 1 year (preferred)
