Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new role as a renal pharmacy Homecare and High Cost Drugs administrator to join the highly dynamic renal pharmacy team at Imperial College NHS Trust.
The post holder is responsible for supporting the processing and invoicing of homecare prescriptions for over 2000 patients within the renal department.
This role will be focused on providing an efficient, high quality stock provision and medicines management service to the renal unit at Imperial College and optimise High Cost Drug data.
Homecare is a prescription delivery service utilised by the department as directed by NHSE to supply red listed medications to the patients of the Imperial Renal unit.
The service is integral to operational function and clinical needs of the transplant, CKD and dialysis clinics.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who has excellent interpersonal skills. The individual will be required to travel to the various dialysis units on a regular basis and work alongside staff at each of the units. In addition to this the individual will learn to develop and provide drug expenditure reports and have the opportunity to develop their dispensing, invoicing and purchasing skills.

Responsibilities:

Increased support in the management of High Cost Drugs used within the directorate. This will be achieved through better quality data management, monitoring of cost savings and High Cost Drug usage to the directorate and trust.
Monitoring homecare KPIs as decided and highlight failing performance against these KPIs. These are then to be escalated to develop appropriate action plans in order to rectify.
Optimisation of medication storage and use through better housekeeping of drugs on the ward and dialysis areas. The post holder will be required to visit one area weekly as part of the role.
They would provide cover for annual leave for the band 4 dialysis and High Cost Drugs homecare administrator.
The individual will supervisor to the band 3 homecare assistants in delivery of the renal homecare services to transplantation and dialysis units
