THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Pharmacy Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily technical operations of the dispensary at Sentrex Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Supervisor will ensure that pharmacy operations are compliant with provincial/federal regulations and Sentrex standard operating procedures. As well the Pharmacy Supervisor will coordinate and schedule dispensary technical staff and lead and manage the dispensary team.

A Day in the Life (What you will do here):

  • Supervise and perform daily pharmacy operation activities while ensuring compliance with established Standard Operating procedures and provincial/federal regulations and standards (eg NAPRA)
  • Provide oversight and ensure daily workflow is completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provides exemplary customer service to clients and acts as the main point of contact for external and internal customers for pharmacy inquiries and service escalations
  • Manage dispensing and shipping schedules
  • Support and participate in new pharmacy technology implementations and upgrades
  • Maintain inventory of dispensary items and medical supplies
  • Manage the payroll and scheduling of all direct reports
  • Performance management of direct reports including hiring, one on one meetings, goal setting and evaluations
  • Train, assess, mentor and lead dispensary (non-clinical) team
  • Resolve daily pharmacy operational issues
  • Assist with the development of standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • Works approximately 50% of time performing the responsibilities outlined in the Pharmacy Assistant job description
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with external and internal customers
  • Adherence to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operation procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements as set out by the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Ensure safe and appropriate storage of medications
  • Identify, develop and assist with implementation of continuous improvement projects to maximize operational efficiency/quality of service
  • Actively contribute to the ongoing review of pharmacy policies and procedures
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by pharmacist and/or manager within the scope of practice of role
