REQUIREMENTS

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • One or more of the following required:
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed. Must possess all state and local qualifications.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Must possess all state and local qualifications. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities:

The Pharmacy Technician, Embedded Advocate will be responsible for actively and successfully navigating patient prescriptions, which may include, but not be limited to: Submitting prior authorizations, supporting providers by assisting with benefits investigation, submitting appeals, exploring patient medication financial assistance options, coordinating fulfillment of orders with dispensing pharmacy, and identifying/resolving barriers on behalf of the interdisciplinary care teams in a remote setting.

  • Collaboratively address issues such as benefits investigation, prior authorization, and financial assistance efforts to ensure patient receipt of needed medications
  • Effectively navigate patient prescriptions, including those that are either limited distribution drugs or out-of-network
  • Demonstrate availability as scheduled, to answer inbound calls while protecting the confidentiality of patient’s information and adhering to company policies regarding patient health information (PHI)
  • Collection of appropriate patient demographic information to facilitate submission of prior authorization, supporting appeals, coordinating fulfillment of orders with dispensing pharmacies
  • Serves as a liaison between the patient, pharmacists, providers, and third party administrators.
