Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Tech Professional Practices works cross-functionally to support all pharmacy regulatory requirements within the organization. Responsible for supporting regulatory compliance and responding to issues within established procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support of all staff licensing (such as multi-state pharmacist licensure, Pharmacist in Charge licensure) to ensure continued compliance for regulatory and accreditation requirements; performs primary source validations on an monthly basis.
- Completes staff change notifications and submits to the Board of Pharmacy in states that require notification; supports pharmacy licensing with corporate licensing team; ensures licenses are being renewed in a timely manner and that all licenses are posted appropriately in the pharmacy.
- Runs and submits state controlled substance reports on daily basis as required to maintain regulatory compliance; partners with IT to ensure reporting is compliant with state requirements; conducts daily audit of electronic controlled substance prescription as federally required.
- Conducts routine regulatory and accreditation audits of the pharmacy process to ensure compliance with Board of Pharmacy, DEA and accreditation requirements; identifies gaps and partners with site leadership to implement corrective actions plans, when necessary.
- Researches and responds to pharmacy practice related regulatory agency, health plan and member complaints/grievances in coordination with other departments; collaborates with staff from the pharmacy teams to support issue resolution; partners with internal and external clients to ensure responsive and consistent handling of issues.
- Monitors regulatory rulemaking in assigned states as well as other regulations that may impact processes and procedures to ensure continued compliance with new regulations. Analyzes for any operational impacts.
- Other responsibilities as judgment or necessity dictates.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED
- Current Pharmacy Technician License/Registration without restrictions and in good standing with State Board of Pharmacy if required in the State in which position is located. National Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification without restrictions and in good standing in states in which the position is located that do not License/Register Pharmacy Technicians.
- Basic skill level in Microsoft Suite (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio).
- At least 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to deal with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally, including.
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes ((within state and out of state)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2 years’ of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in retail, home delivery, and/or specialty environment.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy management operating systems.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to put data into a quality analysis.
- Self-motivated, action-oriented, strong initiative with the ability to act independently and meet deadlines.
- Superior organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple project simultaneously.
- Willing to travel up to 10% of time for business purposes
