The Pharmacy Technician provides, prepares, and fills prescriptions through the River Valley Family Health Center pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for provide exceptional customer service with patient oriented, community building mindset. This position participates in clinical staff meetings. This is a full-time position requiring 40-hours per week.

EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • Highschool Diploma required.
  • 2+ years’ experience working as certified pharmacy technician preferred.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred. However, will train right proactive applicant, must obtain provisional pharmacy technician licensure.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:

  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Knowledge of State laws regulating pharmaceutical compounding practice
  • Strong knowledge of product preparation, compounding, packaging and labeling as well as quality assurance standards
  • Ability to excel performing multiple tasks at the same time without making errors
  • Yearly training in OSHA, HIPAA, and in pharmacy procedures and policies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with patients, staff team members.
  • Cash register/POS operation and cash handling skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet job requirements
  • Ability to be a team player. Support and assist team members. Be available to help, and learn from the team. Keep an open mind to feedback, and earn trust of staff and providers
  • Provide exceptional customer service in positive, friendly and professional manner
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Willing to be a team member in keeping a clean pharmacy
  • Knowledge of 340B program preferred.
  • Eager to learn, take initiative to do whatever needs doing, self-motivated
