We have a casual position available for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Slade Pharmacy team, based at the St. Stephen’s Hospital in Hervey Bay, Queensland. This role is ideal for Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Students looking to expand their career into a hospital environment or seeking the flexibility that casual employment offers.

Responsibilities:

The role of a Hospital Pharmacy Technician involves a variety of duties with a focus on managing imprest supply, assisting Pharmacists on the ward preparing discharges, liaising with hospital staff and working closely as part of a small team. You will get to work with a team who provide clinical pharmacy services to inpatients, ensuring that all pharmacy activities are completed to a high standard while supporting the quality use of medicines.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense and supply medications for hospital patients and outpatients
  • Coordinate the safe, accurate and timely supply of all medications
  • Keep accurate records of continuing and existing treatments and organise confirmation of future orders
  • Liaise with hospital staff and associated employees
  • Assist with the management of PBS claim and owing prescriptions
  • Assist with stock management activities
  • Customer account billing and record management
  • Support patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
  • Produce medication discharge profiles
  • Undertake delivery and collection of medication
  • Assist with patient account enquiries
