How you make a difference:
The Pharmacy Technician’s primary role is to dispense medical prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Additionally, the Pharmacy Technician performs administrative duties such as data entry, inventory management, and prescription billing. They must maintain a high degree of accuracy and adhere to all state and federal regulations related to pharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medical prescriptions and perform administrative duties as directed by the Site Physician or Charge Nurse.
  • Maintain inventory records, receive and store incoming supplies, and verify stock.
  • Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare personnel as needed.
  • Assist healthcare professionals within the scope of pharmacy technician certification.
  • Adhere to infection control techniques and principles, while respecting patient dignity and confidentiality.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pharmacy Technician license/certification as required by state of employment.

Experience

  • Prefer a minimum of one (1) year experience.
  • Familiar with a variety of field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Pharmacy Technician license/certification as required by the state of employment. Current CPR Certification.
