PHARMACY TECHNICIAN II – CERTIFIED

Novant Health is seeking a Pharmacy Tech II-Certified, to join our pharmacy team, to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, every time.

Essential functions include:
- Responsible for processing, preparation, and filling of prescriptions
- Perform non-sterile compounding and repackaging
- Answer and screen telephone calls and referring calls to a pharmacist when appropriate
- Use point-of-sale to support customer service needs
- Support shipping of medications by preparing supplies and ensuring ice packs are re-stocked
- Package, ship and track all packages to ensure they are delivered to the appropriate address and within set timeframes for medication integrity
- Demonstrate proficiency with equipment and software
- Process prescriptions in a timely order and manner so as to best take care of patient needs
- Receives and accurately transcribes orders from prescribers under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Utilize EPIC/Patient Management system to review and process prescription information
- Thoroughly document patient encounter(s) via Epic/Patient Management system to meet accreditation standards
- Assists with training of new employees, educating them in job-specific functions
- Purchasing duties and support inventory management
