Description:
ABOUT THE PROJECT
You will be working for the European Renal Association (ERA) Registry, a registry for patients with kidney failure who are treated with dialysis or a kidney transplant. Each year the ERA Registry receives data on these patients from about 35 countries in Europe. Check out the website: https://www.era-online.org/en/registry/.
Responsibilities:
As a PhD student, you will conduct research in the field of epidemiology of patients with kidney disease who are treated with dialysis or a kidney transplant. Your research will focus on international differences in the occurrence and outcomes of these patients. We are currently expanding the ERA Registry database with additional donor and kidney transplantation variables and you will also use this dataset in your PhD research.
- You will analyze available data from the ERA Registration in the field of epidemiology on the occurrence and outcomes of patients with kidney disease who are treated with dialysis or a kidney transplant in European countries.
- You will write scientific papers on this data and the publications will form the basis for your PhD thesis.
- In addition, you will contribute to the data collection of the ERA Registry via national registries, the publication of the ERA Registry annual report and the related scientific article.
- During your PhD project you will have the opportunity to follow several courses, for example in the field of epidemiology and on scientific writing.
