- Master’s Degree within field related to signal processing, e.g. Electrical engineering, Biomedical engineering, Software engineering, Control Theory, Machine Learning, etc.
- Like the combination of research and the problem-based method to reach the best possible solutions.
- Have been using MATLAB or Python for implementing signal processing algorithms.
The corporate language is English, so you need to have professional proficiency in English both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
In the role of PhD student within our Signal Processing Widex department, your main responsibility will be to carry out research related to signal processing as it applies to hearing aid advancements. The purpose is to investigate new areas of study and to gain a PhD in conjunction with a well-respected research ensemble at a university in Denmark.
As part of being enrolled at a Danish university, you will get access to a solid academic foundation and be part of their strong audio signal processing research environment. You will spend time at the university, and both the university and WS Audiology will support you in getting a good network among other PhD Students.
You can expect to have a leading researcher within the area as supervisor from a Danish university, as well as a supervisor from our Signal Processing Widex team, and co-supervisor from our Scientific Audiology team within WS Audiology all with goal of supporting a positive research and business impact.
As part of your daily work, you will have access to great and knowledgeable colleagues and audio test labs.
As part of the PhD program, you will be able to publish your work and attend conferences to both share your research and expand your knowledge.
The specific research focus will be finally determined in collaboration with you to ensure match with your competences and interests. However, the focus will be within the broad spectrum of Audio Signal Processing by researching into areas like; Audio Scene Analysis, speaker tracking/detection, methods for speech enhancement and improving speech intelligibility in noisy environment, always with the goal of improving the health and well-being of the hearing aid user.
In the role of our new PhD Student, you are expected to meet the following criteria:
- You bring technical knowledge within the areas of signal processing, or a complementary field e.g. within control theory, machine learning or neural networks. You might also bring knowledge in audiology or
- You are committed to the invention of solutions with real-world applications, grounded in your scholarly research in Audio Signal Processing, and you welcome the interaction with peers from different departments.
- Your communication skills contribute to a collaborative environment where ideas and knowledge are shared, working ffer include an advantageous pension scheme with health insurance, sports and arts club as well as good canteen facilities.Our Danish headquarter, is a CO2 friendly and modern facility with beautiful surroundings close to Allerød north of Copenhagen, Denmark
