PhD position in Immunology (TV-L EG13/65%)
The position is embedded in the DFG-funded SFB TRR259, an interdisciplinary research consortium in Bonn, Düsseldorf and Cologne that studies the mechanisms underlying aortic diseases. We study the role of immune cells and the impact of the microbiome in aortic valve stenosis (AS), a progressive inflammatory disease with serious cardiovascular complications, and aim at translating our findings into developing novel therapies. The PhD position is located at the IMMEI and is co-supervised by the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine of the University Hospital Bonn. We employ a wide range of cutting-edge technologies like single cell RNA Sequencing, flow-cytometry, immunohistology, metabolomics, animal models and surgical techniques. The position is to be filled for a limited period until 30.11.2027 due to the doctorate.
We are seeking a passionate scientist who is highly motivated to answer scientific questions in a stimulating environment. The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. or an M.Sc., respectively, with university degree in Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or related fields with top scores. Candidates with experience in immunological research in mouse models will be given priority. Excellent written and spoken English skills are mandatory.
