The project
ACTT will investigate the early molecular and cellular processes that contribute to the phenotype of the genetic disorder Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy (ACM), aiming to unveil novel protective and regenerative pathways.

You will investigate various ACM model systems (mouse disease models, patient samples, in vitro and ex vivo cardiac equivalents) applying cutting-edge imaging and sequencing techniques to:

  • (1) assess the early drivers of the disease with high resolution spatio-temporal transcriptomics
  • (2) analyze the role and relevance of different cardiac myocyte subtypes
  • (3) explore the therapeutic potential of selected compounds targeting disease modifiers

You are an independent, curious, creative, and ambitious team player who enjoys working in a young, international and interactive scientific environment.

You possess

  • Master’s degree in biomedical or molecular sciences, biology or related fields
  • Strong background in molecular biology with an interest in cardiomyopathies and translational medicine
  • Experience with in-vivo animal work, stem cell cultivation, or bioinformatics are advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English

We offer

  • A young, dynamic, supportive team in a creative research environment with a broad spectrum of methodology and further advanced training opportunities
  • A national and international scientific network (Collaborations and lab visits, scientific conferences)
  • Excellent core facilities (i.e., microscopy, NGS, transcriptomics)
  • Enrollment in the Graduate School for Cellular and Biomedical Sciences (GCB)
