OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients for laboratory testing, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment. This role is crucial in providing accurate diagnostic information that contributes to patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a phlebotomy training program is preferred.
  • Certification as a Phlebotomist from an accredited organization is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Must be able to pass background checks and comply with health regulations.

    Pay: $18.90 per hour
    Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

  • Phlebotomy: 2 years (required)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures to collect blood samples from patients.
  • Ensure proper identification of patients before sample collection.
  • Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area and equipment.
  • Educate patients on the blood draw process to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures at all times.
  • Document all procedures accurately in patient records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
