Description:
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients for laboratory testing, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment. This role is crucial in providing accurate diagnostic information that contributes to patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a phlebotomy training program is preferred.
- Certification as a Phlebotomist from an accredited organization is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Must be able to pass background checks and comply with health regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures to collect blood samples from patients.
- Ensure proper identification of patients before sample collection.
- Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area and equipment.
- Educate patients on the blood draw process to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures at all times.
- Document all procedures accurately in patient records.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
