Performs clerical duties for the department. Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Department and the Hospital Center.

Responsibilities


    1. Answers telephones, gives information to callers, takes messages and relays messages to staff.


      1. Greets patients, vendors and visitors.


        1. Prepares schedules and makes appointments on computerized program


          1. Prints and updates staffing boards.


            1. Registers patients in our system and update their demographics.


              1. Performs receptionist duties and screens all personnel and visitors.


                1. Sorts/distributes mail


                  1. Calls staff for reassignment or overtime; notifies and records appropriately.


                    1. Assigns supplemental staff.


                      1. Makes telephone calls to obtain additional staff as necessary.


                        1. Records unit census on daily staffing sheets.

                        Qualifications
                        Russian speaking preferred.
                        Collective bargaining unit: SEIU 1199-MSBI
