Perform venepuncture in designated clinics within the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust treatment room service footprint.
To work autonomously within the clinic setting.
Record documentation on EMIS

Record documentation on EMIS
East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust treatment room service covers the East Lancashire footprint of Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle, Ribblesdale and Rossendale with 10 clinic sites. We offer extended service at Clitheroe and Great Harwood which includes Phlebotomy.
ORGANISATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure patients records are maintained and that documentation reflects the care provided
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and clinical guidelines for self and others
Promote people ’ s equality, diversity, and rights
Provide response to patient’s complaints
Continually monitor standards of care and assist in the improvement of care, participate in benchmarking, audit, and research
Comply with policy and procedure in data collection and reporting
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out venepuncture in accordance with service specifications, national and Trust policies, and procedures within own scope of assessed competence.
Be responsible for the collection and delivery of blood samples taken, ensuring they are received at the pathology laboratories within the desired transition times.
Understand and apply relevant principles of care, i.e., patients’ rights to privacy, dignity, informed consent, and confidentiality. Implement high standards of infection control
To adhere to policies and procedures relating to safeguarding of vulnerable adults/children and understand own responsibility within this area.
