Description:
UPMC Williamsport is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist to join our team of outstanding healthcare professionals!
EDUCATIONAL/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and skills to provide quality customer service.
- Understanding of normal human growth and development across the lifespan.
- Ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret medical records.
- Skills in planning, organization, follow-up, delegation, problem-solving, self-development, organizational behavior, and stress tolerance.
- Ability to apply principles of logic and strategic thinking to various problems and handle both abstract and concrete variables.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify referral growth opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with healthcare team members, coworkers, supervisors, and the Corporate Management Team.
- Active participation in healthcare industry professional organizations is preferred.
- May be in rooms where medications are stored during job duties, but no contact with medications is allowed.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate patient status to referring physicians and other healthcare team members.
- Serve as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students, residents, and fellows.
- Maintain professional licensure through ongoing education and professional development.
- Perform assessments, reassessments, and treatments, and supervise PTAs in treating patients of all ages.
- Develop and adjust care plans based on patient responses and status changes.
- Rotate through selected treatment areas as needed to meet organizational needs.
- Actively participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all physical therapy services rendered.
- Provide home instructions to patients and their families.
- Schedule patients to maintain productivity while ensuring quality care.
