Description:

UPMC Williamsport is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist to join our team of outstanding healthcare professionals!

EDUCATIONAL/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge and skills to provide quality customer service.
  • Understanding of normal human growth and development across the lifespan.
  • Ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret medical records.
  • Skills in planning, organization, follow-up, delegation, problem-solving, self-development, organizational behavior, and stress tolerance.
  • Ability to apply principles of logic and strategic thinking to various problems and handle both abstract and concrete variables.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify referral growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with healthcare team members, coworkers, supervisors, and the Corporate Management Team.
  • Active participation in healthcare industry professional organizations is preferred.
  • May be in rooms where medications are stored during job duties, but no contact with medications is allowed.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate patient status to referring physicians and other healthcare team members.
  • Serve as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students, residents, and fellows.
  • Maintain professional licensure through ongoing education and professional development.
  • Perform assessments, reassessments, and treatments, and supervise PTAs in treating patients of all ages.
  • Develop and adjust care plans based on patient responses and status changes.
  • Rotate through selected treatment areas as needed to meet organizational needs.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all physical therapy services rendered.
  • Provide home instructions to patients and their families.
  • Schedule patients to maintain productivity while ensuring quality care.
