QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from an institution that is recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association s Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
- Certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Physical Therapy Licensure in the State of New Jersey.
- Experience managing multiple tasks while working proficiently under pressure.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with efficiency and effectiveness.
Preferred:
- 3 years of experience in a collegiate or professional athletic performance setting, or equivalent.
- Dry Needling Certification, or eligible, via New Jersey State Board of Physical Therapy.
- Blood Flow Restriction Certification.
- Applicants who possess both Athletic Training and Physical Therapy credentials and experience are valued highly for this position.
Scheduling Requirements:
- Full Time, 40 hours per week
- Regular day, evening and weekend hours are required; Travel is required during competitive season.
Responsibilities:
- Provide physical therapy services to student-athletes utilizing accepted methods of examination/evaluation, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy techniques, physical agents and mechanical modalities, and other interventions, as needed to carry out rehabilitation protocols.
- Meet the collegiate football student athletes healthcare needs and provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with the team physician or by prescription.
- Direct and oversee the implementation and evaluation of individual treatment plans for student athletes through consultation with sports medicine staff and other health service providers. Provide reports when requested.
- Incorporate and maintain current rehabilitative instruction guidelines for all Rutgers University Sports Medicine Staff.
- Foster communication, within the bounds of confidentiality and other related matters of propriety, by making sure that relevant information is set forth and present to coaches, sports medicine personnel and other health service providers, as well as to student athletes in a clear, concise and cogent format.
- Assist with the compilation, input, organization, and maintenance of accurate and valid treatment records.
- Share in the responsibility of maintaining and organizing the athletic training room system.
