DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, a Physical Therapist Assistant performs treatments, provides exercise instruction and demonstration for patients. Assists the Physical Therapist during patient testing, evaluations, and complex procedures. Carries out a program of corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients, as determined by the evaluation by a Physical Therapist. Instructs patients on segments of the program, including proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetic appliance and devices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
• upon hire: Alaska Physical Therapy Assistant License. Or
• upon hire: Alaska Physical Therapy Assistant Limited Permit. Or
• upon hire: Alaska Physical Therapy Assistant Temporary License.
• upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
• 1 year As a PTA.
