Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The West Liberty University Physician Assistant Program is seeking a motivated and innovative individual for a 12 month, full-time, tenure track position of academic coordinator/principal faculty. We are searching for a team-oriented faculty member to participate in a dynamic and collaborative program which has strong administrative support, the potential for innovative inter-professional opportunities, and excellent benefits and opportunities for professional development.
The academic coordinator in the WLU PA Program is a key administrative role responsible for supporting the coordination and management of the didactic activities to ensure smooth functioning of the program. This position involves collaboration with faculty, adjunct faculty, guest lecturers, students, and program leadership to facilitate the effective delivery of educational content and compliance with accreditation standards. In addition to teaching, the academic coordinator mentors students and participates in all aspects of student recruitment, retention, and academic progression. The academic coordinator also participates in other aspects of the program including program recruitment and promotion and program self-evaluation. The academic coordinator is a principal faculty member in the WLU PA program.
Clinical practice opportunity is offered. Salary will commensurate with experience.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate from an accredited physician assistant program.
- Master’s degree required
- Current NCCPA certification required
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of West Virginia
- Teaching experience in physician assistant education preferred.
- Two or more years of clinical experience is preferred
