Description:
Are you a qualified and dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) seeking a new opportunity? Would you like to provide care for our military? We are seeking a Physician Assistant to support the North Carolina Army National Guard in Raleigh, North Carolina.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is primarily for administrative medical assessments and readiness functions. Specific duties include but may not be limited to:
- Perform clinical review of documentation and in-person evaluation (if needed) to determine functional abilities, medical instructions, and recovery time estimates.
- Review for deployment limiting conditions and make a determination.
- Maintain a daily spreadsheet of Soldiers and determinations made.
- Validate all supporting medical documentation in reference to injury, illness, disease, etc.
- Maintain communication with Nurse Case Management Team.
- Perform Periodic Health Assessments on personnel, notify them of any potential health risks, identify an injury or illness that requires treatment, and determine if they meet deployment requirements.
- Review and determine if Soldier meets medical retention standards and make referrals as needed.
- Provide Physician Assistant services at Medical Readiness Events
- Review positive urinalysis drug test results and available or provided evidence of legitimate prescription use.
- Review rosters and assemble necessary equipment for immunizations (i.e., correct type and quantity of serum and syringes, necessary blank forms, medics, etc.).
- Verify systems of record are updated with all required data entry and documentation after services have been completed.
- Communicate procedural information pertinent to programs being administered to Medical Branch employees as needed.
- Provide case processing, medical/dental documentation, and profile concerns to the case manager/dental case manager for review and submit to the appropriate military provider.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- Must have a current and unrestricted license in one of the fifty United States or its territories
- Must have a current BLS & ACLS certification
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to make sound judgments about sensitive/confidential information.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience as a civilian contractor for a Government Facility
