Physiotherapist Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team. As a Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and providing effective rehabilitation treatments to individuals with various physical conditions. Your role will focus on improving patients’ mobility, function, and overall quality of life through evidence-based practices. You will work with a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and the elderly, in various settings such as clinics, homes, schools, and community-based locations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: A degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university or institution.
- Licensing: Active registration with the provincial regulatory body (e.g., College of Physiotherapists of Ontario).
- Experience: Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required; new graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients’ physical conditions, mobility, and functional abilities. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
- Rehabilitation Treatment: Provide therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, exercise programs, and modalities, to help patients recover from injury, surgery, or chronic conditions.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on proper posture, body mechanics, and exercises to improve physical health and prevent further injury.
- Goal Setting: Work with patients to set realistic rehabilitation goals and track progress over time. Adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as occupational therapists, physicians, and nurses, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Injury Prevention: Provide guidance on injury prevention techniques and strategies, tailored to the patient’s lifestyle, work demands, and sports activities.
- Patient Support: Offer emotional support and encouragement to patients as they progress through their rehabilitation process.
- Stay Current: Continuously update knowledge and skills through professional development, attending workshops, and staying informed on the latest physiotherapy research and techniques.
