JOB DESCRIPTION:
KLS Earthworks & Environmental is looking for a qualified Picker Truck Operator to join our team. The Picker Operator will be responsible for proficiently operating mechanical boom and cable equipment to lift and maneuver materials, machines, or products in various directions. Primarily, the role entails picking up, transporting, and unloading equipment and other materials to and from different locations.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for routine vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in map reading and reacting to road conditions.

Responsibilities:
- Operate Picker Truck.
- Conduct inspections and adjustments on picker truck and lifting accessories to prevent malfunctions and damage.
- Oversee cargo handling procedures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform trip inspections on equipment and loads to ensure safety and roadworthiness.
- Comply with all relevant legislation regarding safe operation, transportation regulations, and occupational health and safety standards.
- Conduct pre & post trip inspections.
- Maintain accurate records of working hours, vehicle service, and repair status.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members.
- Support shop team and perform general maintenance duties.
