Hours
Full time: Monday – Thursday, 8am – 5.30pm and Friday, 8am – 4.30pm (30-minute lunch)
Location
This role is based at our Kilbirnie Street branch in Glasgow but will require travel across our UK branch network.
About the role
As a Pipefitting/Fabrication Engineer, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining the pipework infrastructure in our vehicle showrooms and workshops. You will plan and install pipework services on building refurbishments and new projects, while updating existing sites with improved pipework infrastructure and carrying out repairs as require.
We’re looking for an experienced pipefitter with excellent pipefitting skills. The ideal candidate will have an adaptable approach to work and be able to manage their own workload.
Day-to-day duties
Working in a team with the project manager planning workloads and layouts.
Fabricating, installing and maintaining pipework services in vehicle workshops and showrooms.
Ordering parts required from suppliers to complete jobs.
Working with site managers to get projects completed on time.
Working with sub-contractors to make sure projects are delivered on time.
Essential skills and experience
A high level of skill and attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
CSCS and IPAF qualified
Strong communication and planning skills
Experience working with all aspects of fabrication, pipework, oil, compressed air and water services
Previous experience working in vehicle workshops/showrooms installing IT cabling and associated components
Experience working from site drawings and layouts using Adobe Acrobat
Nice to have but not essential
Microsoft Office skills are required, although training can be provided.
Experience working with compressors is desirable, but training can be provided.
Adobe Acrobat experience is beneficial, but training can be provided.
