The Opportunity
The Operations Support Team is part of the Pipe Integrity Department which provides technical services for the Canada and US Gas business units within TC Energy to support safe effective pipeline integrity maintenance decisions and continual pipeline integrity program improvements while concurrently meeting regulatory requirements to maintain safe and reliable pipe systems.
Reporting to the Manager of Operations Support, you will be supporting TC Energy’s engineering assessment program. The ideal candidate is a technical engineer with a background in pipeline integrity, integrity inspection technologies, risk and reliability. If you are a self-starter with excellent organization, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, this role is for you.

What you’ll do

  • Complete detailed technical engineering assessments which include the review of pipeline integrity information, evaluation of the pipeline condition, and determination of fitness for service
  • Critically review data and multi-variate data analysis
  • Collaborate and communicate with business units to understand and address their needs
  • Assist in the monitoring for compliance to TC Energy procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Provide technical direction and advice to all aspects of Pipeline Integrity Engineering
  • Provide support to technical SMEs with work related to data gathering, analysis and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a specialty in Mechanical or Civil engineering. Other engineering disciplines will be considered
  • Licensed Engineer or Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) is required
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in pipeline integrity, project management, risk and reliability or related field is a requirement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Canadian and US pipeline regulations (such as CSA Z662, 49 CFR Part 192, etc.)
  • Experience in audit, assurance, and regulatory engagements
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment, remain organized and maintain a strong focus and attention to detail
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to involve appropriate resources to reach solutions in an effective manner with creative, ’out-of-the-box’ thinking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong data analysis and presentation skills with demonstrated Project Management skills
