K&L Gates is seeking to hire a mid-level associate to join the Tax (Including Trusts and Estates and Tax Exempt Organizations) practice in our dynamic Pittsburgh office. The ideal candidate will have between 3 and 5 years of strong estate planning, probate, and trust administration experience, particularly with complex and high net worth estates, and be able to manage multiple matters independently. Specific job duties include: (i) drafting estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney; (ii) drafting court pleadings for probate administration and related court proceedings; (iii) preparing, analyzing, and concisely summarizing complex planning structures; and (iv) assisting with multiple estates of various sizes.

Prior experience with estate planning and administration in a sophisticated law firm practice is required. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic contributor to the Firm and office culture, and have a collaborative approach to their work environment. Candidates will work closely with experienced lawyers who will provide active mentoring and opportunities to assume increasing levels of responsibility and client contact. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We require strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and exceptional research and writing abilities. We desire candidates with a commitment to providing the highest quality client service.
