We believe in investing in those who invest in us, constantly working to build a collaborative and friendly working environment while offering top-tier benefits and generous pension packages to our eligible full-time employees with purposeful, rewarding work, supportive supervisors, and positive, engaged work teams.Reporting to the Dean, Business & Community Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with community service agencies to obtain access to and to organize and oversee the efficient and effective placements for all community services students over the three semesters of their multi-campus programs.What you will be doing:Assist with the recruitment and orientation of placement agencies;Maintain a record system for decision-making purposes regarding site selection and student outcomes;Oversee the planning, organization, orientation, and evaluation (student and faculty-based) of all community-based fieldwork experiences in all campus areas; andCollaborate with faculty and be the initial contact for students, faculty, and community agencies in order to meet the training and related needs of students and specific target groups.A detailed job description is available from the Human Resource Services department.What you will need to be considered:Two (2) year diploma in Office Administration, Business, Human Services, Education or a related equivalent field of study;Two (2) years of recent experience in an office setting, preferably with some experience working with community services agencies; andMust have knowledge of business software applications (e.g.: word processing, spreadsheets, web conferencing, and e-mail).The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational, prioritization, research, computer, and communication skills.What Northern has to offer:Defined benefit pension plan;Professional development opportunities;Wellness programs;Employee Assistance Program;Tuition assistance;Generous vacation and holiday closure;Group insurance benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, LTD, etc.); andRelocation expense reimbursement.The incumbent may be required to provide a criminal reference check.As part of Northern College’s action on reconciliation, the College recognizes its responsibility to make a difference through increasing the number of Indigenous employees who work in the academic field.
