ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

“We create happiness.” That’s our motto at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and it permeates everything we do. At Disney, you’ll help encourage that magic by enabling our teams to build the never-before-seen! Are you ready to join this team and make an impact?
You will partner with Engineering Services (ES), Subject Matter Experts (SME), and the Integrated Facility Planning (IFP) team to develop strategies for obsolete items in the Planned Technical Obsolescence (PTO) program. The candidate should have strong social skills, be able to get results, and collaborate with many technical and non-technical departments. The role includes identifying and tracking obsolete ride, show, and facility equipment in a regularly updated database. You don’t need any technical knowledge of the various equipment, but a high level of understanding will be required to discuss and plan with partners.
You will report to the Manager-Project & Integrated Facility Planning (IFP) Support.
This is a Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement with an estimated end date of 10/4/2025.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Partner with Engineering Services (ES), Subject Matter Experts (SME), and the Integrated Facility Planning (IFP) team to develop strategies for obsolete items in the Planned Technical Obsolescence (PTO) program.
  • Work with domain experts to identify short life cycle (<5 years) components and their affected locations, and then identify the replacement components and develop a bump-down strategy and timing.
  • Collect existing inventory information for Disneyland and coordinate with Walt Disney World and other global sites when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain a resort-wide PTO strategy for each equipment category.
  • Enhance inventory utilization between the east and west coasts.
  • Collaborate to develop a virtual and physical warehouse for PTO spare components.
  • Partner with the IFP team to provide feedback for PTO efforts that need to go through the IFP process.
  • Coordinate the PTO timing to work with the IFP cycle.
  • Coordinate with Facility Asset Management (FAM) and Engineering Services Integration (ESI) to capture and salvage the PTO components during the change-out process.
  • Manage equipment moving into and out of the PTO Warehouse.
