As a Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure the smooth operation of our customer’s site. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure that all maintenance tasks are scheduled efficiently and executed effectively. Your attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and ability to collaborate within a team will be key to achieving success in this role. Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Review daily work orders generated by the Gate Keeping Team and prioritise them based on urgency and required completion dates.
  • Plan and coordinate both routine and larger maintenance tasks, collaborating with other planning resources as necessary.
  • Active participation in gatekeeping meetings to contribute insights and optimize maintenance processes.
  • Monitor and manage procurement requests and reservations for parts and equipment, aligning them with scheduled work orders.
  • Proactively track and report on lead items required for routine and defect maintenance to prevent delays.
  • Work closely with onsite contractors, effectively planning and managing their tasks to minimise downtime.
  • Utilise CMMS (SAP) and Excel to manage cost reporting, budgeting, and forecasting in coordination with maintenance supervisors.
  • Participate in the on-call system as per assigned roster, escalating issues according to established procedures.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Trade Certificate.
  • Engineering tertiary qualification is advantageous.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous production operations.
  • Proficiency in cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to dynamic maintenance scenarios.
  • Ability to make timely decisions and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Strong team player who can collaborate effectively without constant supervision.
  • Keen attention to detail and a solid grasp of engineering concepts.
