Description:

Position Summary
Performs schedule development, maintenance and monitoring activities as directed. Leads planning and scheduling activities when delegated.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of schedule data for proposals or contracts.
  • Identifies scope of schedule activities.
  • Determines schedule dates for work activities within a discipline area or specialty.
  • Determines milestones to support project schedule.
  • Establishes work sequence for a specific discipline or specialty.
  • Determines interdisciplinary restraints or interfaces which define activity sequences.
  • Works with client and subcontractor teams to coordinate work sequences with total project plan.
  • Establishes duration of activity for a discipline or specialty.
  • Develops quantity release or installation curves for a specific discipline or specialty.
  • Reviews quantity logs to ensure total quantities are represented for a particular discipline or specialty.
  • Assists in the development of required workhour expenditure for specific discipline or specialty.
  • Performs quantity and manpower resource loading for assigned schedules.
  • Continuously assists discipline or specialty engineers in developing their individual work plans and knowledge of overall discipline requirements.
  • Assists discipline groups in determining what information is required from other disciplines to support and interface with assigned discipline or specialty.
  • Provides schedule knowledge on a continuous basis to assist in discipline planning and interfacing with others.
  • Determines critical path activities for a discipline or specialty. Identifies significant activities supporting inter-discipline requirements.
  • Performs schedule monitoring and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines or specialty. Assists In the development of requirements for updating and schedule monitoring and their Implementation.
  • Monitors schedule deviations for an assigned discipline or specialty and proposes corrective action/work around solutions.
  • Develops unit installation or workhour rates for a specific discipline or specialty to aid in analysis. Prepares detail reference information as basis for project action or decision.
  • Prepares and develops study information as assigned. Evaluates quantities, workhour/workforce, and schedule logic for a specific discipline or specialty.
  • Prepares schedule, manpower, and quantity progress and performance reports for assigned disciplines or specialties.
  • Identifies and reports critical path activities which have potential impact on schedule.
  • Clear understand of construction schedule Levels 1-5 and their different characteristics.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade experience
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management
  • 5-10 years’ experience as planner or coordinator
  • Trade experience / Technical certificate
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in the following:
