About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Planning Engineer to join our Power Transmission & Distribution business based in Leeds.
Joining a team of 4 Planners, this role will report into the Planning Manager and work on our ongoing projects focusing on substations but also supporting on OHL and cabling.
What you’ll be doing

As a Planning Engineer, you will:

• Plan, structure and lead the planning of the project programme of works
• Manage the interface between the programme and the operational staff through structured meetings, programme and progress reporting
• Highlight both the dependencies and the interfaces between stakeholders
• Identify programme risks and propose mitigation strategies
• Identify programme opportunities and propose capture strategies

Who we’re looking for

You will have:

• Working knowledge of Primavera preferably on Power Transmission projects or industry related projects
• Operational experience of construction projects
• knowledge of Project Management methodology
• Proven ability in working with operational teams to capture real time progress
• Good experience of Microsoft excel

The following is desirable:

• Have experience working in an NEC3 contract environment
• Hold the APMP or APM Practitioner Qualification
• Experience using Microsoft Project
