GENERAL SUMMARY

Working as part of the planning team, the primary role of the Planning Lead is responsible for overseeing the planning and scheduling of project activities in a manufacturing environment. The role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure that project targets are met while maintaining high levels of quality and efficiency. This includes but not limited to, Owning the project schedules assigned, people management of the team when allocating daily task, managing performance and development issues, workflow, as well as meticulously always maintaining standards and KPI’s. This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure that materials, equipment, and personnel are available to meet project goals. The Planning Lead will also monitor production progress and adjust the project plans as needed to ensure on-time delivery of products.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in project planning or scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong focus on driving the customer delivery plan.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to help build relationships across functions and influence.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
  • The role demands excellent communication skills, both written and oral, across all levels within the company and to external customers.
  • It is important that the role holder has strong knowledge of SAP, planning software and Microsoft Excel as this will be used daily.
  • Possess good numeracy skills and have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Engineering and technical knowledge of the range of Clyde Union Pumps product would be beneficial.
  • Understanding project management is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.

Responsibilities:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

On an ongoing basis, the Planning Lead must assume full responsibility and will be held accountable for the following:

  • Develop and maintain project plans to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive positive KPI results, ensuring you hold true to our values including always doing the right thing.
  • Take a positive approach to coaching, developing and performance managing the team members.
  • Create, develop and maintain the project plans for the manufacturing facility.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure that materials, equipment, and personnel are available to meet project goals.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust project plans as needed to ensure on-time delivery of products.
  • Analyze production data to identify and create baseline project plans for future projects.
  • Communicate with internal customers and supply chain to ensure that project plans are aligned with customer demand and supplier lead times.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Head of Planning, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, Workshop Manager, project team, sales team and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage and maintain the KPI’s assigned by Head of Planning.
  • Maintain a positive / safe working environment.

PEOPLE MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • With support and guidance from HR, create and maintain a robust competency matrix for the team along with training and development plans.
  • Ensure training and development plans are actioned.
  • Knowing about the health and wellbeing support available and proactively offering appropriate advice and following up on this; Effectively manage sickness absence, following company policy and seeking guidance from HR when required.
  • Understanding the performance and development planning process; supporting and managing your people through the process.
  • Supporting your people throughout the year, through regular conversations, tracking progress against objectives and managing any performance issues.
