Description:

RahrBSG is looking for a Planning Manager who will be responsible for supply and demand planning including the engagement and leading of the Sales and Operations Planning Process (S&OP). This role supports cross-functional alignment between Commercial, Finance, Product, Operations, and other key business units, and advocates for the voice of the customer in Supply Chain decisions. The Planning Manager leads a team of planners and collaborates closely with senior leaders to drive data-driven decision-making, enhancing forecast accuracy, and optimizing inventory levels to meet customer demand efficiently.
This position is hybrid position based in Shakopee Minnesota or Denver Colorado.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & WORK REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a team leadership role.
  • Strong technical proficiency in advanced planning software and Microsoft Excel; experience with data analytics and visualization tools (ie: Power BI) is a plus.
  • APICS certification preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring its growth and incorporating the implementation of Demand Planning and S&OP Management software when necessary.
  • Contribute to the company’s overall success by managing systems to meet sales targets, control inventory turnover rates, maintain stock levels, and achieve profitability goals.
  • Oversee and provide reports on various metrics, including but not limited to forecast accuracy, inventory turnover rates, weeks of inventory on hand, and order fulfillment rates.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess planning performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Oversee demand forecasting, incorporating historical data, market intelligence, and sales input to enhance forecast accuracy.
  • Manage supply planning, ensuring production and inventory levels are optimized based on demand forecasts and capacity constraints.
  • Drive scenario planning to assess the impact of changes in demand or supply and to develop contingency plans.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Marketing to create a continuously refined sales forecast by incorporating demand history, trends, NPI, seasonality, and other market data, which will serve as a demand planning forecast for all sources.
  • Coordinate with the entire business to set inventory targets based on each platform, ensuring they are effective and align with financial goals.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for cross-functional teams, promoting an integrated approach to planning and decision-making.
  • Manage and develop a team of demand and supply planners, providing guidance, coaching, and career development.
  • Create processes and train planning team on effectively aligning demand with supply and managing orders through established processes until they reach the distribution point or the customer.
  • Support planning team members with their abilities and continuous improvement of the overall operation, including training on the latest planning tools, techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the company and operational needs.
