We are moving towards the adoption of a new Local Plan whilst simultaneously seeking to deliver high quality development, which is focused on attracting the right investment and infrastructure to improve quality of life for the borough’s residents.
With a highly collaborative and flexible approach across the department you will gain experience and make planning decisions based on expert policy and evidence.
We are seeking a highly motivated Planning Officer to determine applications and deliver high quality development. You will report to a Team Leader and will need to be able to manage your own case load of planning applications, pre-application advice requests and other work. You will need to be able to prepare reports and make recommendations for decisions on applications.
The right candidate will be someone with knowledge and an understanding of town planning who is looking to progress their planning career and become part of a well-balanced, dedicated and supportive team, dealing with a variety of applications in the context of attractive, interesting and varied rural and urban environments. The posts offer an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience and knowledge as part of a positive and friendly team.
The Council is operating a flexible working arrangement with a minimum of two days in the office and the opportunity to work at home for the remainder of the week.
