Description:

Hello. We’re Severn Trent and we think water is wonderful. And we’re pretty keen on people, too.
24 hours a day, 365 (sometimes 366) days a year we serve 4.8 million households and business across the heart of the UK. Each cuppa drank, each toilet flushed is only possible because of the 7,000 brilliant team members working across our patch.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality. We know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our customers and the communities where they live.
If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Workforce Planning & Optimisation function within Severn Trent is a critical part of our Field and Contact Centre Operations. So, we are excited to have an opportunity for you to join the team as an End-to-End Planning Technician.
As the job title gives away, you’ll manage the end-to-end planning for our above ground assets, dealing with alarms through our alarm monitoring system eSCADA and planning work packages for other technicians.
In this role you’ll join planning meetings every week, working alongside engineers and catchment leads to prioritise critical tasks and maintainable tasks.
You’ll work towards Service Level Agreements (SLAs), so you’ll need to know when tasks need to be complete by and you’ll put plans in place to ensure we complete the work on time.
You’ll be based in our Raynesway site in Derby where you’ll be able to park for free or get to with ease with loads of local travel options. You’ll work within our 320 strong Workforce Planning & Optimisation Team who all love what they do.
Though you’ll be working closely with our field operatives, this role will be business core hours only, Monday – Friday 07:30 – 15:30.

Responsibilities:

Software knowledge is essential in this role, so you’ll be highly skilled on Microsoft apps such as Excel, Word and Powerpoint. It would be handy if you’ve also used systems like SAP, Click and eSCADA too, but if not, you’ll be a quick learner and will learn the systems as we train you.
Communication is key so you’ll be comfortable picking up the phone and joining meetings with a range of stakeholders. You’ll be a team player who enjoys working closely with your colleagues to achieve goals.
It would be great if you have had experience prioritising tasks and activities, looking at urgency, impact and duration to help you make decisions.
You’ll be willing to travel once a week to the depot you support, which could be across the Severn Trent region.
So, if you are a goal focussed person who can prioritise efficiently, this role would be perfect for you.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involve.
Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?
